Hello everyone! I hope you have had a decent week despite the tragedy that struck Parkland. My posts are a little off schedule right now but I have quite a few things rounded up so I really wanted to write an Around the Web post. The past week has been very olympic filled for me with some long work days thrown in. I finally got to relax a bit and it is feeling great. One of my good friends was in town as well which was a blast! This week’s internet round up includes lots of videos because somehow I have ended up on YouTube quite a bit.
How I Built This: I highly recommend the Patagonia episode from the NPR podcast, How I Built This. My dad is a huge fan of Patagonia because they have such a solid and ‘noble’ mission and philosophy, so I have been family with their story for a while. This episode is a great way to see a bit about what they do, how they are unique and why they are so successful.
Solo Van Life Video: I am including this video because it sparked a realization in me. I keep struggling with whether or not to settle down and find a real nine to five job when thats not necessarily what I want. I know there are other options that I am considering but for some reason I didn’t feel like other things were real feasible options. This video just made me realize that it is possible to do what I want and enjoy the world especially at this time in my life. If I can make a little money and find a way to explore and travel as much as possible than that is what I want to do.
Refinery29 YouTube Channel: I have been familiar with Refinary29 for a while but I never have seen their YouTube channel. I am super into it! So far I have been watching lots of Try Living With Lucy but there are lots of other inspiring, unique and funny videos.
The Olympics: I had to include this because I am 100% a winter olympics person and I have been watching as much as I can. Mirai Nagasu’s triple axel was incredible to watch as she made history being the first US women to land the jump in the Olympics. I also just watched Nathan Chen land six quads in a single performance. It was amazing! We haven’t even got to my favorite events… alpine skiing. Mikaela Shiffrin’s giant slalom win was beautiful. Despite the US falling short in slalom and super G, watching all the amazing skiers has been so fun. Also, the snowboarding events were all so fun to watch this year!
Color Block Swimsuit: I just ordered this adorable navy and pink color block two piece swimsuit from ASOS. They have some great options for swimsuits this year that are all really affordable. Also J. Crew is totally killing the gingham swimwear this season. I just love the ruffle top but there are so many other options as well. One last swimsuit is this bow brief. It is almost sold out but probably the cutest thing I have seen in a while!
Black History Documentaries: I was so glad to see a list of documentaries like this. I am so intrigued and definitely will be checking them out this weekend.
Quick last note, Patagonia is having a sale right now so its a great time to check it out if you are in the market!
Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend.
