Outerwear is definitely one of my favorite parts of any outfit. The need for a warmer layer is one of many reason that I love fall so much. Warm jackets and cozy sweaters are the best. I wanted to do a round up of my favorite pieces of outwear for this time of year. Here are seven of my most worn jackets/coats for the fall season.
denim jacket, a classic trench coat, a comfy leather jacket (this was in my favorite purchases of 2018 and I think it is still one of my all time favorite purchases), a black or navy vest, a barn jacket (perfect for apple picking, hiking, farm adventures and any other fall adventure), a sweater coat, any poncho (I am liking a navy or beige for fall, more affordable option from Madewell)
Coffee shop run. This trench coat is one of my most worn clothing items of all time. Mine is ASOS from probably four years ago but I linked an Everlane option above that is so cute (plus Everlane is an amazing brand). I love that trench coats can be dressed up or down and just always make an outfit look classy.
I mentioned above that this was a favorite purchase last year and I still love it and wear it a ton, especially during fall. I love that this one has a hood and gold hardware but there are lots of great options out there.
Apple picking in my Barbour vest! It is the perfect layering piece. I think that it also does a great job of adding class to any outfit.
Apple picking with a friend in a perfect flannel lined Carhartt jacket. This is one jacket I don’t worry about getting dirty and still love the look of (plus it is super comfy).
Ponchos are a great outwear option for dressier occasions but can also be dressed down for casual weekend trips to the farmer’s market and for easy work days.
This Mark and Graham sweater coat (linked above) is a new purchase this season but I have already worn it several times. It is a great weight for the cool mornings and it goes with just about anything.
A denim jacket is such a versatile closet essential. I wear mine spring, summer and fall and never get sick of it. For fall I love pairing it with shades of olive or beige.
Happy fall my lovely people!
