Fall Skirts

Happy Tuesday! Today is a crazy work day for me. I am leaving tomorrow for Vermont so I am trying to get everything in order and I am teaching today. On the other side of that though, I am so excited about this trip. I get to see my family and I will be visiting a friend.

Today’s post I wanted to dedicate to wearing skirts in the fall. I am so into skirts right now and I love putting together great outfits for different seasons. I chose several skirts that I have been wearing a lot in the past month or so. I styled them specifically for fall outings, work etc…

10 Favorite Outfits: July

The month of July has been a little less exciting than the last but fun nonetheless. I was working almost everyday but still we found time to explore and eat some great meals. Cambridge City definitely popped up quite a bit and I had time to cook some fun meals with friends. Just as July is ending I am driving out to the east coast for some vacation time with family and friends. It is sure to bring lots of fun and new, exciting places. Here are my ten favorite looks from the month of July:

Seersucker & A Red Barn

It has been incredibly hot lately but today it finally cooled down! Perfect weather though for a seersucker skirt. I actually received this skirt for my birthday and it is my favorite. Seersucker is the best and I love the length and the white buttons down the front are such a great touch. This has been a go to outfit this summer and it is great to wear to work as well!

While in Cambridge City a few weeks ago I found this old farm which I discovered is actually a historical marker. It is called Huddleston Farmhouse and it is so beautifully preserved. It a nice place to visit and you can request tours. Finding it though just gave me one more reason to visit this little town. I just can’t get enough! So many cute little shops and the ice cream is delicious.

Pink Pearls

I am really loving this bag from Everly Oak. It is so adorable and looks so classy while being very affordable. I also recently found this vintage pearl bow in the back of my closet and it is so cute! It was probably either my mom’s or my grandmother’s and I am so curious as to how she would have worn it.

Red Sweater

This look is definitely an easy go-to look for school/work/play etc… I am more and more trying to fill my wardrobe with items that can easily be worn to work but that can also be styled for just going out and having fun. I suppose that’s what happens when it is time to find a real job! Although graduation was just over a week ago, the real world is starting to hit me. My brain is always occupied with what I will do next and I can’t seem to come to terms with the fact that in the fall I will not be returning to school.

Tulle Ballet

This traditionally ballet look has definitely re-emerged in the world of fashion as a popular spring trend. I am loving this pink midi skirt from Express that definitely emphasizes a ballerina look and kind of makes me feel like one!

A brief history on tulle as a fabric:

The word tulle comes from the town in central France where the fabric was originally created (Tulle). The pattern within the netting is that of a honeycomb. The netted fabric has become common in wedding veils and gowns after Queen Victoria wore a tulle wedding gown in the mid 1800’s. It is very light-weight and fluffy which is why is started out mostly under actual skirts and dresses. It also has an effect on the wearer that is brought out in the world of ballet.
